Sport Training & Tournaments

Host your next training event or tournament at the Kimberley Conference & Athlete Training Centre and meet to your potential! Imagine: the race course is set and the volunteers are meeting in the Jerry Johnston Room for a final briefing. The doors to the Athlete Training Centre open and registration begins. Your command centre is buzzing with activity as performance-enhancing drug-testing is underway in the Office/Testing Room, and athletes are warming up on the Cybex cardio equipment in the Fitness Room. In the Wax Room athletes are tuning their equipment and then following through the doors and onto the ramp leading directly to the Kimberley Alpine Resort’s main quad chair lift. They make their way to the season long dedicated race course known as the Training Run. After an exciting and successful competition, trainers, coaches, and athletes return to the Jerry Johnston Room to review footage of the day. To close the event, everyone gathers for an awards presentation in the New Dawn B Ballroom where video highlights of the competition play on two giant projector screens. Awards and speeches are made, and a celebratory banquet dinner follows. It’s been a seamless event and plans are already underway to host the tournament again next year

The Kimberley Alpine Discovery Camp is ready for Campers from July 9-22!

Our unique summer camp experience makes the most of everything Kimberley has to offer.

Located at 1,200 meters above sea level, yurt accommodations are shouting distance from the village area at the Kimberley Alpine Resort in City limits, and within sight of the Kimberley Conference Centre where meals, showers, daily yoga, and rainy day activities will be offered. Our Environmental Education partners will offer expert instruction on topics such as invasive species and animal migration.

Campers are a twenty minute walk from downtown Kimberley where they’ll experience Kimberley’s history at the Underground Mining Railway, hang out at Spirit Rock Climbing Centre, and get creative with Centre 64. Also within City limits campers will explore Canada’s largest urban park, the Kimberley Nature Park, play a round of mini-putt and cool off at the Kimberley Riverside Campground.

Hanging out in traditional territory of the Ktunaxa Nation, you will learn about the region’s First Nations from neighbors at the ʔAQ’AM community. As well, you will discover what life was like in the region’s first European settlement at Fort Steele Heritage Town.

    • 3 Day Camp: $350 per camper
    • 6 Day Camp: $599 per camper
